Our client is a manufacturer in the laminating industry, specializing in pre and post-laminating processes for a wide range of industries. Their manufacturing process involves the use of conveyor systems to transfer materials between machines. However, their existing conveyor control system was outdated and unreliable, resulting in production delays and increased downtime. They needed a modern, efficient system to improve their manufacturing process and ensure a smooth production flow. The objective of this project was to design and build a reliable and efficient conveyor control system for our client’s pre and post-laminating process. The system needed to monitor and control the conveyor system, ensuring that products were transported smoothly and efficiently through the laminating process. The system was also required to provide real-time information to the operator on the status of the conveyor system, including any errors or warnings. Ultimately, this project aimed to improve our client’s overall production process, reduce downtime, and increase throughput.

Dpstar successfully designed and implemented a conveyor control system for our client’s pre and post-laminating process using Omron PLC and a Beijer touchscreen as the human-machine interface (HMI). The system was custom-designed to cater to the client’s specific needs, ensuring that it could seamlessly integrate with their existing laminating process. The PLC system was connected to various sensors and switches placed at strategic points on the conveyor system to monitor its status. The system operates by receiving signals from the sensors and switches to determine the position of the product on the conveyor. Based on these signals, the PLC system controls the speed and direction of the conveyor, ensuring that the products are transported smoothly and efficiently through the laminating process. The touchscreen provides the operator with real-time information on the status of the conveyor system, including the position of the product and any errors or warnings. The operator can also control the conveyor system through the touchscreen, making adjustments as necessary.
