PR Electronics 6337A – 2-Wire HART Transmitter

Application

  • Measures temperature linearly using TC and RTD sensors such as Pt100 and Ni100.
  • Features HART communication and a 4…20 mA analog PV output to measure temperature from up to two RTD or TC sensors individually, in difference mode, or averaging mode.
  • Converts linear resistance to standard analog current signals, e.g., from valves or Ohmic level sensors.
  • Amplifies bipolar mV signals to standard 4…20 mA current signals.
  • Supports connection of up to 63 transmitters (HART 7) in a multidrop communication setup.

Technical Features

  • User-configurable HART protocol revision: HART 5 or HART 7.
  • HART 7 protocol enhancements include:
    • Tag numbers up to 32 characters.
    • Enhanced Burst Mode and Event notification with time stamping.
    • Mapping of device variables and statuses to dynamic variables (PV, SV, TV, QV).
    • Process signal trend measurement with logs and summary data.
    • Automatic event notification with time stamps.
    • Command aggregation for efficient communication.
  • Designed according to strict safety standards suitable for SIL installations.
  • Continuous verification of vital stored data.
  • Meets NAMUR NE21 recommendations for top measurement performance in harsh EMC environments. Also complies with NAMUR NE43 and NE89 recommendations.

Mounting / Installation

  • DIN rail mounting allowing up to 84 channels per meter.
  • Configurable via standard HART communication interfaces or PR 5909 Loop Link.
  • Suitable for mounting in zone 2, 22 / Class I, Division 2, Groups A, B, C, D.
