PR Electronics 5337A – 2-Wire Transmitter With HART Protocol

Application

  • Measures temperature linearly using TC and RTD sensors such as Pt100 and Ni100.
  • Supports HART communication and provides 4–20 mA analog output for temperature measurement from up to two RTD or TC sensors, either individually, as a difference, or as an average.
  • Converts linear resistance to standard analog current signals, applicable to valves or Ohmic level sensors.
  • Amplifies bipolar mV signals into standard 4–20 mA current signals.
  • Allows connection of up to 63 transmitters (HART 7) in a multidrop communication setup.

  • HART 7 protocol features include:
    • Extended Tag numbers up to 32 characters.
    • Enhanced Burst Mode and Event notification with timestamping.

    • Process signal trend measurement with logs and summary data.
    • Automatic event notifications with timestamps.
    • Command aggregation for improved communication efficiency.

  • Complies with NAMUR NE21 recommendations for superior measurement performance in challenging EMC environments, and also meets NE43 and NE89 recommendations.

Mounting/Installation

  • Suitable for DIN form B sensor head or DIN rail mounting using PR fitting type 8421.
  • Configuration possible through standard HART communication interfaces or via PR 5909 Loop Link.
