MDM – Customising your Smartphone to suit site requirements

ecom’s Android Smartphones and Feature phones, the Smart-Ex series (ATEX / IECEx Zone 1/21 & Division 1, ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 and Division 2) and the Ex-Handy 209 (ATEX / IECEx Zone 2 and Division 2), can be used as an intrinsically safe camera in hazardous areas.

ecom’s Android Smartphones and Feature Phones now offer users the option of being used in various modes to allow specific features to be ‘turned off’. Utilising mobile device management (MDM), users can be prevented from using functionality that is not enabled by an administrator. This effectively allows compliance with site restrictions and security, while not restricting the efficiencies and increased safety that such devices afford. The MDM also prevents users from installing unapproved applications.

Camera only – Via kiosk mode the functionality of the Smart-Ex® 01 can be limited to using only the camera function.
