Vetrix GT Series Gas Turbine Flow Meters are specifically engineered for measuring natural gas, compressed air, and other fluids. These meters provide measurements for both volume and mass flow rates.

Operating Principle

The operation of the International Gas Turbine Meter is based on measuring the velocity of gas. As the gas flows through the meter, it passes through a straightening section equipped with vanes. These vanes eliminate unwanted swirl, turbulence, and asymmetry, preparing a uniform gas flow profile before it reaches the turbine wheel. The dynamic forces exerted by the flowing fluid cause the rotor to spin. The turbine wheel, mounted on a main shaft supported by high-precision, low-friction ball bearings, features helical blades set at a known angle relative to the gas flow. The conditioned and accelerated gas drives the turbine wheel, generating angular velocity that is directly proportional to the gas velocity.
