Applications

Silicone-insulated cables are utilized in scenarios where conventional PVC-insulated cables would become brittle due to exposure to high temperatures and temperature fluctuations. They are particularly suited for industries such as metallurgy, steel manufacturing, hot-rolling mills, coking plants, foundries, cement works, glass factories, ceramics plants, electric motor production, sauna construction, marine and aviation applications, as well as in heating, refrigeration, air-conditioning systems, and lighting equipment, among others. The insulation is made of silicone rubber, which is halogen-free and highly resistant to vegetable and animal fats, various oils, and diluted acids. It does not decompose when exposed to alcohol, plasticizers, alkaline or saline solutions. The insulation is fully tropicalized, resistant to oxygen and ozone, and notable for its high flash point. In case of fire, it forms an insulating silicon dioxide layer on the conductor, preventing short circuits.
