Raytek EC150 Series Extrusion System is a thermal imaging system designed for plastic processing, particularly for extrusion coating, co-extrusion, and laminating processes. It automates surface inspection to detect, measure, and classify defects in these processes, offering a unique capability for managing the quality of plastic film extrusion.
Variations in temperature and viscosity in the local melt streams across the width of an extruder flow channel can lead to issues like wavy or running edges, gaps, and edge-tears in the extruded film. Raytek EC150 System utilizes Raytek MP150 Process Imager to continuously monitor the temperature distribution and width of the extruded melt curtain, automatically detecting these imperfections. It provides continuous monitoring of the extrusion process, visualizing temperature data as a line graph (profile) and a thermographic image. These profiles and images can be printed or archived for future analysis.
* Specifications based on MP150. MP150 models can measure from 20ºC (68ºF) up to 950ºC (1742ºF). ** 512 Temperature Points are only available with scan frequency not faster than 76 Hz.
