PR Electronics 9116A-EMP – Universal Converter, EMPHASIS Assessed

Advanced features

  • Configuration and monitoring via a detachable display front (PR 4511/4501), enabling process calibration, signal and relay simulation.
  • Sophisticated relay configuration options, including setpoint adjustment, windowing, delay settings, sensor error indication, and power monitoring.
  • Capability to copy configurations from one device to others of the same type using the display front.
  • Thermocouple (TC) inputs with options for internal or external Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) to enhance accuracy.
  • Active/passive milliampere (mA) output available through the same two terminals.

Application:

  • Suitable for mounting in and receiving signals from non-classified areas and Zone 2 environments.
  • Converts and scales temperature, voltage, potentiometer, and linear resistance signals.
  • Provides power supply and signal isolation for 2-wire transmitters.
  • Monitors error events and cable breakages via an individual status relay and/or a collective electronic signal through the power rail.
  • PR Electronics 9116A-EMP is designed, developed, and certified for use in SIL 2 applications according to IEC 61508 standards.
  • Suitable for use in systems up to Performance Level “d” according to ISO-13849.

Technical Characteristics:

  • Equipped with one green and one red front LED to indicate operational status and malfunctions, along with one yellow LED to indicate relay status.
  • Features 2.6 kVAC galvanic isolation between input, output, and supply.
  • Can be supplied separately or installed on a power rail, PR type 9400.

Mounting:

  • The devices can be mounted vertically or horizontally without spacing between neighboring units.
