What is ESG?

Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) refers to a company’s set of standards in relation to sustainability, human and social capital, leadership, and compliance. These factors play an increasingly large role in business decisions as shareholders are becoming more concerned with how an organization’s (primarily) eco-social practices will affect long-term growth in a rapidly changing landscape favoring clean energy, diversity, and corporate responsibility.

At Dpstar sustainability is one of the key strategic themes through which we are driving growth and delivering shareholder value while managing our environmental and social impact. Sustainability-driven behavior reduces our costs while creating new business opportunities by mitigating risks.

We are building a cohesive ESG strategy intended to drive long-term value and accountability through meaningful progress and transparent and credible disclosures. Based on our efforts to understand our current environmental and social footprint, our management team has identified four ESG focus areas for which we plan to set company-wide goals:

Environmental Efforts in Business Activities

Dpstar provides products, systems and service solutions that not only enhance our customers businesses, but also lessen their environmental impacts, through improved energy efficiency and increased industrial productivity. we recognize the need to minimize our environmental impacts through managing our energy consumption, with the aim of reducing our CO2 emissions intensity; managing the production and disposal of effluent and waste; and reducing water use. The principles of risk reduction and continuous improvement are also reflected in our approach to product development. When designing eco-efficient and recyclable products we conduct Life Cycle Assessments – comprehensive evaluations that encompass long-term environmental consequences. work to implement our programs and to ensure that our facilities comply with ISO and OSHA’S standards to manage environmental and health and safety risks.

Being a pioneer in electrical heaters Dpstar strongly advocates for electrification in the transition to electric heating products for key industrial processes. Electric power offers a number of environmental, fiscal, and safety benefits for industrial use. Electricity is a cost-effective and highly efficient power that makes for environmentally-friendly heaters. Using electricity makes a big difference in environmental impact. Electricity produces no harmful emissions and there is very little wasted energy.

Switching to electric heating products can improve the energy efficiency of the heating process, depending on heat requirements and type of heating application, it can reduce carbon emissions from vaporizers, thermal energy storage, food processing, diesel emissions, and other applications. We included predictive maintenance, calibration, verification along with a wireless and completely remote monitoring solution that was web-enabled so that users had the convenience of the data at their fingertips anywhere anytime.

These include health screening, workspace cleaning guidelines, staggered work schedules, marked walking paths and manufacturing floors to enhance physical distancing and facilitating remote work where appropriate. Working as a cohesive team, we have also distributed facemask, enhanced sanitation, restricted business travel, implemented contact tracing and provided flexible working conditions in an aggressively short timeframe. We changed our paid-time-off and short-term disability policies to accommodate for those infected or exposed to COVID-19 and allowed for extension of carry-over days to take into consideration the inability of our employees to take holidays due to travel restrictions and lockdowns. We ensured that potentially exposed or unwell people did not come to our facilities
