Dpstar is a reputable provider of heating solutions for various industries, offering reliable, efficient, and precise heating technologies. In this project, Dpstar was tasked with designing and building a Hardening Furnace for a metalworking application. With decades of experience and expertise in high-temperature furnace design, Dpstar was well-positioned to take on the project. The metalworking industry requires furnaces that can achieve high temperatures for the heat treatment of metals. However, conventional furnaces can be energy-intensive, costly to operate, and may not provide precise temperature control. Additionally, the furnace must be durable and reliable to withstand high temperatures and provide consistent performance.
The objective of this project was to design and build a Hardening Furnace that met the specific requirements of the metalworking industry. The furnace needed to achieve temperatures up to 1000°C, provide uniform heat distribution, be energy-efficient, durable, and have precise temperature control.
To meet the client’s requirements for achieving temperatures up to 1000°C with uniform heat distribution, Dpstar used 9 pieces of AF heating elements in the Hardening Furnace’s design. These heating elements are made of a high-temperature resistant alloy and have a diameter of 2.6mm, an outer diameter of 33mm, and a length of 1105mm. The furnace operates at a power rating of 415V – 58kw. The AF heating elements emit infrared radiation that is absorbed by the metal parts placed inside the furnace chamber. The heating elements provide uniform heat distribution throughout the chamber, ensuring consistent and precise temperature control. Additionally, the furnace is equipped with a digital temperature controller and thermocouple to maintain the desired temperature inside the furnace.
