Category:

AOIP OM 17 Milliohmmeter is designed for on-site use, whether in a workshop, on a platform, or outdoors. It has improved autonomy, allowing longer measurement sessions (up to 60 minutes) at 10 A DC, and faster charging of wound resistors (measurement stabilization in under 2 seconds). Easy to use, Simple to operate, it can measure both inductive and non-inductive resistances with DC or pulsed DC current up to 10 A using 4 wires. With high accuracy (0.05% L) and resolution (0.1 µΩ), it covers a wide range of selectable ratings from 5 mΩ to 2.5 kΩ.

Easy to use, robust and well protected (IP 53 box open / IP 64 closed, metal measuring terminals with locking mechanism), the OM 17 is very popular in different industries:

  • Aeronautics
  • Energy
  • Home appliance
  • Wire and cable manufacturing
  • Telecommunication
  • Electronic
  • Automobile
  • Railway

Wide Fields Of Applications

  • Metallization and ground continuity check
  • Quality control of welds
  • Contact resistance test (low voltage connectors, relays, etc.)
  • Electronic components test
  • Resistance measurement, calculation of losses and heating of coils, transformers, motors
  • Resistivity and length of flat and braided cables
  • Railway network, electrical network maintenance

Two forms of current

Direct current

  • Inductive resistors, coils
  • Automatic triggering of measurements with the use of a trigger probe
  • Compensation of the FEMs before triggering of the measures

Pulsed current

  • Non-inductive resistors
  • Automatic release when continuity is established – 1 operator is sufficient
  • Automatic current stop at the end of the measurement
  • FEM compensation at each measurement

Configuration and display

Users can configure all parameters either directly from the instrument or via software (LOG OM, available as an option). These parameters include measuring current, rating, resistance type, unit of measurement, reference temperature, alarm thresholds, and calculations. The large screen of the OM 17 informs the user in real time of the measurement conditions. Any detection of overshoot, open circuit, or low battery is indicated by LEDs and messages on the screen.

Before each measurement, the electromagnetic forces are measured and automatically compensated for greater measurement accuracy. For non-inductive resistances, only one operator is needed to perform measurements because the measurement starts automatically when continuity is detected between the two measurement points.

Users can program the type of metal or its temperature coefficient, set the reference temperature for the measured resistance, and adjust the ambient temperature. The ambient temperature can also be measured using an external temperature sensor. The OM 17 operates on battery power and can store up to 1000 measurements, usable from the device screen directly or transferable to PC via OM Log. Each measurement terminal on the device is protected up to 250 V. while any detection of overshooting of rating, open circuit or low battery is signaled by LEDs and messages on the screen.
