Raytek Marathon FA Fiber Optic Temperature Sensor is designed for use in harsh industrial environments where access is limited. It comprises a rugged fiber optic cable and optical head assembly connected to an electronics housing. This housing contains the detector, processing electronics, an internal user interface with an LED display, and termination connections for field wiring. The fiber optic design allows the sensor to be used in confined spaces with a small bend radius.

These infrared sensors maintain high accuracy across an ambient operating temperature range of 0º to 60ºC (32º to 140ºF). The fixed-focus optical head features a compact stainless steel cylindrical housing and lens assembly. To prevent lens contamination, an air-purge accessory can be added, and the fiber optic cable is protected by metal armor. The Marathon FA1G model, specifically designed for measuring bulk glass temperatures from 750º to 1675ºC (1382º to 3047ºF), is ideal for use in environments such as melters, refiners, regenerators, and forehearths.

The Marathon FA Fiber Optic Temperature Sensors include Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software to enable easy and consistent installation, configuration and data capture across the following applications:
