Raytek Marathon FR fiber optic thermometer is designed for precise temperature measurement of targets that are obscured by smoke, steam, or particulates, smaller than the instrument’s field of view, or located in strong electromagnetic fields. This pyrometer features a robust fiber optic cable and optical head assembly, connected to a housing unit. The housing contains a detector, processing electronics, an internal user interface with an LED display, and connections for field wiring. The FR Optical Head is housed in a small, stainless steel cylindrical casing that can endure ambient temperatures up to 200°C (392°F) or 315ºC (600ºF). Additionally, the Optical Head can be fitted with an air-purge accessory to prevent lens contamination. The fiber optic cable is safeguarded by stainless steel metal armor.

It includes Raytek DataTemp Multidrop software to enable easy and consistent installation, configuration and data capture across the following applications:

  • steel and metals processing (foundry/forging operations & heat treating)
  • glass forming, tempering, annealing, and sealing
  • semiconductor processing
