Features

  • Smaller in diameter and lighter with the same allowable current, because the volume resistivity is 1/4 of nickel conductor.
  • Easy to process and wire, because it is softer than nickel conductor.
  • The thickness is 20-30 times of normal nickel-coated wire (1-5 μm). (Nickel vs. copper area ratio: approx. 28:72.)
  • The conductivity varies depending on changes in temperature. Even if used continuously under a temperature of 220℃, the conductivity varies only slightly.
  • The tensile strength varies only slightly even if used under a temperature of 220℃.
  • Using nickel as the surface material, far more resistant to corrosion than copper wire.

Ninomiya TN210 cable features a construction using flexible nickel-clad copper wires renowned for their heat and corrosion resistance. These wires are enveloped in polyimide tape and further insulated with glass fiber. The series is designed to withstand temperatures up to 220℃.

Here’s the breakdown:

  • Conductor: Multiple strands of nickel-clad copper wires are employed to enhance flexibility and minimize conductor resistance compared to pure nickel wire.
  • Insulator: The conductor is double-wrapped with polyimide tape, then served with glass evenly. For conductor sectional areas of 8.0 Sq. or more, it is braided with glass yarn instead of being served. A final layer of silicone varnish is baked onto the surface to complete the insulation.
  • Color Code: Standardly, the cable is distinguished by two red spiraled stripes on a white background.

Applications: Ninomiya TN210 cable is extensively used as lead wires in electric heaters and wiring within high-temperature equipment, particularly where exceptional heat and corrosion resistance are crucial.
